Operations Manager, Freight Brokerage
The operational backbone of a growing brokerage. You build the SOPs, define the KPIs the desk runs on, and work directly with the executive team of a family-owned carrier that has run its own fleet since 2004.
On-site, with quarterly travel to Vancouver WA
Write the process the desk runs on: tender to delivery, exception handling, carrier onboarding, claims. Then keep it current as the desk grows.
Decide what gets measured for account executives and for operations, build the reporting, and hold the numbers up in front of the team every week.
Manage the day-to-day of our nearshore back-office team: track and trace, document collection, carrier pay coordination, billing support.
Interview candidates, build the onboarding path, and get new AEs productive faster than the last one.
Direct line to ownership. What you change in the process is the process, not a suggestion routed through three layers.
Five or more years in freight brokerage operations, at a brokerage or 3PL.
Brokerage or 3PL experience specifically, not asset carrier or forwarder operations alone.
Built or rewritten an SOP that a team followed.
Comfortable owning numbers in front of ownership every week.
Austin based or ready to be, with quarterly travel to Vancouver WA.
