Skyline Transport Group

Why Ship with an Asset-Based Carrier

Our own trucks first, a verified network behind them, and one accountable person per load. Why shippers choose Skyline for reefer, flatbed and dry van.

Every account has a named rep who quotes, books and tracks the freight, with room to know your docks, your appointment rules and your seasons.

The person who quotes your lane is the person you call about it, and you have their direct number from the first load.

You find out who you hired when a reefer throws a code on a Friday, or a permit comes back needing two escorts.

Step decks with a tarp problem. Loads that need permits and escorts. Produce with a set point the receiver will check.

Seven checks at every tender, timestamped and archived. Courts now allow shippers to sue brokers over careless carrier selection, so a shipper’s counsel asks to see that file.

Our own TMS gives you shipments, tracking and invoices in one login, and the person who books your loads still answers the phone. The portal adds to the desk; it never replaces it.

Critical and high-value freight is our specialty, and we carry $500,000 in cargo coverage and $2,000,000 in liability coverage behind it. Certificates of insurance are available same day on request.

A desk that answers, on the freight that goes sideways.

Loads that fit our own fleet never touch the brokered market. Past the fleet, one rep owns your lane from quote to invoice, so the person who quoted it is the one who fixes it.

One rep who knows your dock, with a fleet behind them.

Three offices, Vancouver WA, Sacramento CA and Austin TX: the person who quoted your lane is the one who fixes it.

Seven reasons, and none of them

is a lower rate.

Our trucks first.

A verified network behind them.

Our own fleet, family owned since 2004, is the floor under every quote. When a lane needs more than the fleet, the brokerage desk covers it with carriers we treat like our own equipment: verified at tender, tracked like our trucks, never re-brokered.

Reefer first, then flatbed and dry van. A load that fits our own equipment moves on it, with our driver, our maintenance shop and our safety record behind it.

A carrier who runs your corridor weekly is worth more than a list of a thousand who ran it once. Repeat freight on the same lanes is how our desk earns first call on a truck.

Brokered loads run to the same rules as the fleet: checked at tender, tracked from dispatch, and never re-brokered. If the standard is not met, the load waits for a truck that meets it.

Every brokered carrier is verified at tender: identity, authority and insurance against the FMCSA record. The agreement carries an explicit no-re-brokering clause, and a third name on the bill of lading ends the relationship. How a load runs sets out the rest of it.
